In the world of electronic dance music, there are beats that bind, synths that sing and voices that sooth the soul. And no voice is more soothing, more sensual, and more sensational, than Nadia Ali. The voice of iiO in which millions of records were sold, the songwriter of incredible talents and an artist who has collaborated with some of the biggest names in dance music such as Armin van Buuren.  Nadia Ali is a star…

Born in Libya and raised in the New York City borough of Queens, Ali was first introduced to the music world as a 17 year old, working at Versace while studying at college.

The youngest staff member and office songbird, Ali’s workmates were well aware of her talents, and one day, decided to do something about it. A colleague introduced Nadia to producer Markus Moser, and the rest they say, is history.

From there, music moved from being a full time passion, to a full time career. Ali quit college to focus exclusively on singing and songwriting – a move that would see her pen one of radio’s biggest hits of 2002.

Joining forces with Moser, the pair became known as iiO, and released the song Rapture. It was a worldwide hit, charting in over 16 countries and hitting the number two spot on the UK singles chart.

“At the time I had no idea how big the song was gonna become. I don’t think anybody knew how massive it was gonna become.  I started hearing all these strange names like oh ‘Sander, Pete Tong, Seb Fontaine, are all playing Rapture’. I remember how crazy it was when I first heard it on the radio, I freaked!”

The youngster was riding a wave of success. The offers flooded in from far and wide, with the likes of Armin van Buuren, Creamer & Stephane K all approaching her to feature on their tracks. Her choice to team up with these world renowned producers marked the first of a period of marked and purposeful decisions in her career.

“Both Armin van Buuren and Creamer & K remixed Rapture and I always wanted to work with them, but I also chose working with Armin van Buuren and John Creamer & Stephane K because I wanted to do two records very different from each other.

The string of hits continued. Her singles Who is Watching and Something to Lose garnered even more support for the young talent – not only from her peers, but from her audience and the media.

Ali appeared on a raft of nation-wide programs in the US, performing her hits and sharing her incredible vocal talents with the nation. She toured the world, performing everywhere from Texas to Taipei, Bucharest to Melbourne, Moscow to Istanbul. Nadia Ali had become a woman in demand.

Finally, after years of planning, Ali decided it was time to release a full-length solo album. The resulting production burst onto the scene with the single Love Story, which rocketed to the top of the US Billboard Dance Charts, debuting at number one – a phenomenal feat by any means. Love Story has been play-listed and featured in A-list DJ sets and radio shows across the globe and continues to gain momentum.

Her latest release from her debut long player is’ Fine Print’, a classy vocal hook with remixes available from a number of EDM superstars. The single has already risen as high as #4 on the Billboard club chart and has featured in compilation releases on Ministry of Sound. Look out for ‘Embers’ the debut artist album from Nadia Ali.
