Hi, how are you?
Hi! Things couldn’t be better, life is perfect and I’m having so much fun!
Congratulations on getting into the Top 100 DJs! How do you feel about it?
I’m very excited. This is a dream come true for me! To be recognised so early in my career and to be listed amongst so many artists that inspire me is very surreal.
How is life for you?
Very busy but I love every second of it. I am writing music that I love and sharing it with so many new people – There is nothing I would rather be doing with my time.
What have you been up to this year?
The last year has definitely been the best year of my life. I released my debut artist album that I had been working on for quite a while and it was well received. I played over 100 shows and toured with Ministry of Sound, Global Gathering and a few other key EDM industry players. I was also very honoured to play 2 of the best shows for me to date; opening the main-stage of Trance Energy in Utrecht, Holland and closing Sensation at Telstra Dome in Melbourne to their record attendance. I am also very lucky to have such amazing fans in my home country. They blew my mind again this year by voting me the #1 DJ in Australia for the second year in a row. Forever grateful!
What are your personal highlights and achievements?
My biggest achievement would have to be making the transition from a high school student into a recording and performing artist. I’m 22 now and I appreciate how hard it can be making your passion your full time job and I have been lucky enough to never know any other work besides music. I studied at University (The Conservatorium of Music) after high school but I was already DJing before I began and by the time I got my degree I was an established artist. It’s not every parents dream to hear the words ‘I want to be a DJ’ so I am glad it is working out so far!
What plans for next year?
Really looking forward to touring new countries next year – we are already planning my next album which we will be taking on tour so I can’t wait to share that with everyone. A big focus for me at the moment is the launch of my world wide radio show “Global Soundsystem”. The show is broadcasted in 20 countries and will be a great way to bring new music to fans each week. On the performance side I am putting together a live show where I will be touring with a live band, string quartet and vocalists…. So many exciting things ahead!
Anything you would care to add?
I would like to express just how thankful I am to every single one of my fans, friends and family and all the people I work with who support my music each day. With you, it all makes sense and without you – it means nothing.
